Benjamin D'Annibale
Pianist
Benjamin D'Annibale is a pianist and harpsichordist based in the Philadelphia area. A graduate of the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in Germany (M.M. Harpsichord) and Temple University (B.M. Piano Performance), he has had extensive training with a diversity of keyboard professors, and a special focus on baroque music and instruments. He also received a year of training at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Rottenburg, where he studied conducting, singing, organ, and improvisation. He has given concerts in and around Philadelphia, as well as areas of Germany and France. In addition to teaching and performing in the Philadelphia area, Benjamin is currently the director of music at First Presbyterian Church in Springfield in Flourtown, PA; pianist for the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus; and pianist for the University Choir at Drexel University. Recent performance highlights include a recital for flute, harpsichord, and basson; as well as direction of Vivaldi’s Gloria from the harpsichord. This past summer, he attended the American Bach Soloists Academy in San Francisco.
Elena Kauffman
Cellist
A Philadelphia native, Elena Kauffman maintains an active career as a performing and teaching artist. She is the cellist and manager of Blue Line Quartet, and she performs frequently with Fairmount String Quartet, Elysium String Quartet, and many other chamber ensembles in the Philadelphia area. She is the principal cellist and personnel manager of the Wayne Oratorio Society and Haverford-Bryn Mawr Chorale Orchestra, and she has performed with the Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra, Reading Symphony, Bay Atlantic Symphony, Riverside Symphonia, and West Jersey Chamber Orchestra.
Praised for her “customary acuity and beauty” (Broad Street Review), Elena has a passion for historical string instruments, and she performs regularly on baroque cello and viola da gamba. She has appeared on tour with Venice Baroque Orchestra, and she was the viola da gamba soloist in New York City Opera’s production of Los Elementos by Antonio Literes. She has participated in the American Bach Soloists Academy in San Francisco, the International Masterclasses Festival in Gaming, Austria, and Juilliard at Piccola Accademia in Montisi, Italy. Elena is a founding member of Filament, and has appeared as a guest with Tempesta di Mare, The Thirteen Chamber Choir Baroque Orchestra, Bach Collegium Philadelphia, Gamut Bach Ensemble, Crescendo Period Instrument Orchestra, Ex Umbris, and Elm City Consort. She has studied with Sarah Cunningham, Phoebe Carrai, and has performed in masterclass for Thomas Fritzsch and Paolo Pandolfo.
A dedicated educator, Elena maintains a private studio and is the Orchestra Operations Director and Lower Strings Specialist at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Southwest Philadelphia.
Elena is a graduate of Temple University, where she studied with Jeffrey Solow.
Alberta Douglas
Violinist & Philadelphia Music Coordinator
Alberta Douglas is a violinist native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was
surrounded by a musical family and decided to begin taking violin lessons in
elementary school at the age of seven. At the age of thirteen she began taking
private violin lessons with violinist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Booker
Rowe. In 2013, Alberta began attending University of Minnesota Duluth and
graduated 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Music Performance, studying violin with
Rudy Perrault. Alberta has played for Vanessa Williams, Lauryn Hill, Frankie
Avalon, Andrea Bocelli, Darlene Love, Haley Reinhart, Landau Murphy Jr.,
Dave Damiani, Rick Ross, Robert Glasper, Derrick Hodge, Bilal, Lalah
Hathaway, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Trina. She has also played with The
Philly POPS (Now known as The No Name Pops), Philadelphia Ballet,
Reading Symphony Orchestra, Ocean City Pops, Black Pearl Chamber
Orchestra, Colour of Music Festival Orchestra, Orchestra Noir, Bucks County
Symphony Orchestra, Lower Merion Symphony Orchestra, UMD Sinfonietta
and Minnesota Ballet, Gateways Music Festival Orchestra and Main Line
