Annelisa Guries

Violinist

Annelisa Guries is an avid chamber music collaborator and orchestral musician currently based in Minneapolis, MN. As an advocate for new music, she was deeply involved with Great Noise Ensemble, an award winning new music ensemble in DC. She was a member of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and performed with the Virginia Opera, Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, and the National Gallery Orchestra. She has appeared in concerts in a variety of venues around the country, ranging from the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the National Gallery of Art, to the Artisphere art space in Arlington, VA, and the Black Cat nightclub in DC. Two three-week tours with the celebrated Mantovani Orchestra took her to several cities in China. Since relocating here from the Washington D.C. metro area, she has increased her focused on her work as an archetier.

After completing her studies with Sally Chisholm and Tyrone Greive at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, she received her Bachelor’s degrees in music and Spanish, graduating with honors. Annelisa earned her Master’s degree in Viola Performance and Literature at the Eastman School of Music, studying with George Taylor.
